Tablet Race: Surface Pro 5 vs. iPad Pro 2 vs. Galaxy TabPro S2

In 2017 we are going to witness a stiff competition among Microsoft Apple and Samsung over tablet market share. Three technology giants are working on tabet devices of their own. Let us take a brief look at each of them one by one:

1. Microsoft 's Surface Pro 5

Microsoft is going to launch Surface Pro 5 at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain, next week. Surface Pro 5 is reportedly coming with a powerful laptop grade processor (Intel's 7th generation Kaby Lake). Kaby Lake chipsets are know for better power optimization. Some insiders are claiming it might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 chipset. With either processor, Surface Pro 5's performance will be comparable to that of a PC. Surface keyword is going to be way better than Smart keyboard of iPad. Not to mention, its Surface Pen will come with wirelessly rechargeable battery. Furthermore, all-in-one Surface Dial will be another distinguishing feature. Surface Pro 5 will run on Windows 10 (Redstone 3 update) bringing almost everything you may have on a PC or laptop.

2. iPad Pro 2 by Apple

If you look at specifications of Apple's iPad, it does not look at look as impressive as Microsoft's Surface Pro 5. It comes with mobile grade chips (A10x processor). That mean, computationally it would not be as powerful as Surface Pro 5 because A10X is not comparable to Kaby Lake Intel i5 or i7-series chipset. Again Apple's Smart keyboard and Pencil are not technological superior to those of Surface series. To another disadvantage of iPad users, it will run on iOS - no OS change as iPad users were hoping to have one.

3. Galaxy TabPro S2 by Samsung

Samsung is also working on its own table, Galaxy TabPro S2. It will be launched at MWC 2017. We do not have much details about TabPro S2 at this point. However, there are reports that it will have 4GB RAM and 13MP. Coupled with Intel Core i5-7200U (Kaby Lake) processor it will be running Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
