Steps To Stop Facebook Hacks
- Stay away from clicking on such posts in your news feed where your friends comment on a video (usually with a provocative title and thumbnail). They are traps and would put you in some embarrassing situation.
- Activate login approvals. It is an extended security feature offered by Facebook. It will require you to enter a security code each time you try to access your Facebook account from unrecognized devices.
- Applications like games on Facebook may be a place where you have given permission to a 3rd party company for access to your personal information. Beware such apps and think before you add.
- You need to change the password of your Facebook account monthly or even weekly, not yearly. Facebook’s “Forgot password?” option is one way, or you can go to your account’s settings.
- Log out your Facebook account after using, if others use your computer. Don’t just close the window, especially if you’re on a public computer. Don’t share your password with others. Use strong passwords.
